Civil emergencies - Emergency plan
Rochdale Council will do everything it can to
protect people, property and the environment, by minimising the
effects of a disaster and endeavouring to continue its services,
whilst returning the situation to normality as speedily as
possible.
The Risk and Resilience unit co-ordinates the
planning, training, exercising, activation and the management of
the Council’s response to emergencies. The unit works alongside the
emergency services, voluntary agencies and other agencies who have
a role to play, to ensure there is co-ordinated and effective
response.
The Emergency Services and the Council have
each prepared plans to deal with our response in a major incident.
By co-operating with the emergency services and developing an
integrated emergency management we have ensured that our
arrangements will be harmonised.
