Families
could benefit under new rules
Changes in the law from 2 November 2009 mean that more families
could be entitled to council tax benefit.
Under the new rules child benefit will no longer be counted as
income when calculating benefits. This could mean that more
families will be entitled to council tax benefit - even if they
have claimed before and been unsuccessful.
Entitlement will automatically be reviewed and recalculated for
those families already receiving council tax benefit.
