The Township Office team works to support the Township
Councillors by:
- Listening to what the public has to say about local
issues.
- Liaising with all parts of the Council responsible for local
services to ensure they are what people want.
- Liaising with other partners, such as the Police and Health
Service.
- Improving the democratic process by providing information and
helping to make sure decisions are open and accountable.
- Administering the Township fund which is spent on local
priorities.
- Facilitating and supporting Area Forums.
Township staff are available to meet individuals and
groups, and as part of their work try to ensure that any comments
and views are given consideration.
The Township Office helps and encourages you to contribute to
local decision making. We do this through the Rochdale
Township Area Forums, which look at issues that directly affect
people's lives such as:
- Activities for youth/older people
- Damaged roads and footpaths
- Traffic and transport
- Street cleaning
- Parks and recreation
- Crime and disorder
Councillors, council officers and police representatives attend
the meetings to listen to your comments and answer any questions.
If you live or work in the Rochdale Township area you are
welcome to attend the Area Forums. If you want to be
kept informed and engaged in matters affecting your town, contact
the Township Office.
