The Township office team works to support the Township
Councillors by:
- Listening to what the public has to say about local
issues.
- Liaising with all parts of the Council responsible for local
services to ensure they are what people want.
- Liaising with other partners, such as the Police and Health
Service.
- Improving the democratic process by providing information and
helping to make sure decisions are open and accountable.
- Administering the Township fund which is spent on local
priorities. Part of this fund is available to community groups in
the form of grants.
- Facilitating and supporting working parties and
groups.
Township staff are available to meet individuals and groups, and
as part of their work try to ensure that any comments and views are
given consideration.
The Township Office helps and encourages you to contribute to
local decision making. We do this through Middleton
Township's groups and committees, which look at issues that
directly affect people's lives such as the environment, community
safety and health, culture and leisure provision within the
Township. Councillors, partners organisations, council
officers and members of the public attend meetings of
these working parties and groups.
