Fairer Contributions Policy
This policy has been written in response to the Department of
Health Guidance on the introduction of personal budgets, and the
requirement to have a Fairer Contributions Policy to deal with the
assessment of service user contributions.
The basic principles are linked to the existing Fairer Charging
Policy introduced in April 2003, modified to able to undertake the
financial assessment against an allocation of funds to individual
service users.
A needs assessment and calculation of how much the personal
budget might be, will take place, and this will be designated the
indicative amount. A financial assessment will then be carried out
in accordance with the Council Fairer Charging Policy to determine
the maximum amount that the service users may be liable to
contribute.
