Parliamentary Boundary Review 2013

The Boundary Commission for England is an independent public body that reviews all Parliamentary constituency boundaries in England every five years.  They are currently carrying out a review under new rules laid down by Parliament.

The review concludes in 2013 and will mean substantial changes to the Parliamentary constituencies in England: reducing the total number from 533 to 502 and making sure each constituency has similar numbers of registered electors.  In many cases this means that existing boundaries will be redrawn.

The Boundary Commission for England published initial proposals for the new constituency boundaries in England on Tuesday 13 September 2011.  This publication marks the start of a 12 week period of consultation on these proposals, ending on Monday 5 December 2011.
