Mayor information
The Mayor is the first citizen of the
borough and always has precedence in the borough unless royalty or
the Lord Lieutenant is present.
The Mayor is elected annually at the
Annual Council Meeting in May. There is also a Deputy Mayor who is
elected at the same meeting. In the absence of the Mayor, the
Deputy Mayor is given the same precedence.
The Mayor elect for the municipal
year 2011/12 is Cllr
Alan Godson and the Mayoress is Gillian Brown.
The Deputy Mayor is Cllr
James Gartside and the Deputy Mayoress is Cllr
Jane Gartside.

Mayor's Charity Golfing
The Mayor, Councillor Alan Godson is organising a Charity
Golf Day to be held at the Manchester Golf Club on 19th
April 2012.

Also an official Ryder Cup Golfing Bag
will be up for auction, with bids accepted before the day, starting
